According to a survey conducted in early 2024, 55 percent of respondents in Hong Kong said they had watched news on TVB News channel every week, slightly up from 53 percent a year ago. TVB News is a unified brand of news programs launched by the News and Information Division of Hong Kong Television Broadcast Limited in 1967. Apple Daily, the city's largest pro-democracy newspaper once, is no longer included in the survey. The publication ceased its operation in June 2021 after the police raided its offices over allegations of breaching the controversial National Security Law.
