According to a survey conducted among South Korean adults on their way of handling private information on the internet and on their smartphones in 2023, about 51.6 percent of male and almost 50 percent of female respondents answered that they would check the authors and sources of information online. Profile authentication checks and disabling the location feature have also often been used by the persons surveyed.
