Africa imported a total of 13.34 million metric tons of iron ore in 2019. Africa's imports of iron ore dramatically increased in volume in 2019 compared to other years during the past decade. Of all African countries, Egypt is the largest importer of iron ore, amounting to 3.69 million metric tons in 2019.
