Employment growth rate forecast in Norway 2021-2030, by occupation

Farming and agricultural related occupations are expected to experience the highest employment growth in Norway over the next decade. The occupation with the highest employment growth will be subsistence farmers, fishers, hunters, and gatherers. Between 2021 and 2030, it is expected that this occupation will grow by 9.3 percent, while agricultural, forestry and fishery laborers are forecast to grow by 3.2 percent.

Business and administration

Considering employment change, the occupations with the highest expected employment change in Norway will be business and administration professionals. It is estimated that business and administration professionals will increase by roughly 72 thousand people over the next decade, equivalent to an employment growth of 3.8 percent. Furthermore, the occupation of business and administration associate professionals is forecast to grow by around 42 thousand. The number of job openings for those two occupations is expected to reach over 332 positions until 2030.

Different picture in Sweden

A different scenario is expected to be seen in Sweden over the next 10 years where health related occupations will experience the highest employment growth. The occupation with the highest employment growth will be health associate professionals. Overall, it is expected that the number of health professionals will increase by about 89 thousand people between 2021 and 2030. Furthermore, it is estimated that there will be about 225 thousand available job openings for health professionals until 2030.
