According to a survey conducted among South Koreans in 2019 on what type of information they looked up via mobile devices on web portals, roughly 57.1 percent of respondents stated that they looked up news that way. Out of all the respondents around 30 percent answered that news were the category of information that they looked up the most via portal website information searches.
