U.S.: Food personalities of younger generations by cooking frequency 2020

In 2020, nearly 27 percent of respondents among Millennials and Generation Z who prepare home-made food very rarely stated that they describe themselves as emotional eaters, meaning that their eating behavior is driven by their mood. By contrast, among participants of the two generations who prepare food more than once a day, only approximately 13 percent describe themselves as emotional eaters.
