Average amount spent by French students on clothing and underwear 2020, by gender
In order to calculate the cost-of-living differential between male and female students, the source included in its study expense items that differed in amount depending on the gender assigned, like clothing and underwear. Regarding the budget for underwear, it appears that in 2020, women spent more than three times more than male students. Cisgender male students spent on average 339.21 euros per year on clothing, this item of expenditure represented more than 400 euros per year for female students.
