Average number of clothing items purchased per year by adults in the UK 2018
This statistic presents the results of a 2018 survey, in which adults in the United Kingdom (UK) were asked how many items of clothing they purchase during an average year. The largest proportion of those surveyed (approximately 39 percent) buy one to ten items of clothing each year, while just over a quarter buy 11 to 20 items during an average year. Only around three percent of respondents admitted to purchasing more than 41 items of clothing on an average year.
