Number of video game licenses approved in China 2017-2023

In 2023, China's National Press and Publication Administration (NPPA) granted licenses to a total of 1,075 video games. The authority introduced the approval measures in July 2016 and has since then tightened the regulation several times, each with a months-long licensing freeze.
