Coffee machine sales growth from stricter COVID-19 restrictions South Korea 2020
In the week of August 24 to 30, 2020, espresso machine sales grew by around 103 percent compared to the previous week in South Korea. During the same period, sales of other coffee-related products including hand dripper or capsule coffee machine also increased. Due to the stricter social distancing restrictions starting from August 30, 2020, food and beverage intake in franchise coffee shops in the metropolitan area was temporarily restricted. This caused the increased demand for coffee machine purchases to enjoy coffee at home.
