As of 2019, most Hungarians belonging to generations Y and Z imagined spending their retirement in Hungary, preferably at the countryside. Only a quarter of Hungarians from generation Z wanted to spend their retirement abroad. As for the older generation Y, this figure only amounted to 12 percent.
