A survey conducted in 2020 revealed that 25 percent of the 65 year-olds or older respondents in the United Kingdom (UK) always checked the sugar content when buying food, compared to 14 percent of respondents within the 18 to 24 years old category. A share of 22 percent of the 25 to 34 year-olds stated that they never looked at the sugar content of the food they were buying.
