The Midwest has the highest inflow capacity of regions in the United States. As of 2021, natural gas pipeline inflow capacity in the Midwest amounted to some 55.4 billion cubic feet per day, while outflow capacity stood at 31 billion cubic feet per day.
The Midwest region comprises the states of Michigan, Indiana, Kentucky, Tennessee, Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa and Missouri, while South Central comprises Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Kansas, Oklahoma and Arkansas.
