In 2021, any type of computer or smartphone could be accessed by 99.7 percent of children in households with parents possessing a bachelor's or higher degree. This is compared to the 95.4 percent of children with access to a computer or smartphone in households where the parent had less than a high school diploma's level of education.

Data are based on children living in households and exclude children living in institutions (e.g., prisons or nursing facilities). The surveys asked about "computers" or "types of computer" (including smartphones) in the household. Percentages refer to children whose household members owned or used at home any computers/devices listed in the survey questions or "some other type of computer" that was not listed.
