Hong Kong: ad revenue YoY change by top industry 2023

In the third quarter of 2023, banking and investment service industry spent the most on advertising among other industries in Hong Kong, yet registering 15 percent decrease compared to the same period in the previous year. The pharmaceuticals and healthcare industry remained the second biggest ad spender, followed by the toiletries and household sector.

According to the source, the advertising spending was calculated based on an assumption of 75% off rate the rate cards given by the media owners. Actual discounts may vary.
Excluded in the calculations were house ads and MTR Urban Lines ad spend in September 2022. For digital ad spending, only display ads were covered and search ads were not included. Social media ad spend referred to the branded content ad spend of Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube.
