Ranking of single-core processors by Geekbench score performance worldwide 2025
As of February 2025, the Intel Core i9-13900KS processor achieved the best average single-core performance with a score of 3,134 from the Geekbench benchmarking tests. Of the ten highest scoring processors for single-core performance, Intel accounted for six processors whilst AMD had 4 processors featured.
Intel processors
The x86 is a family of instruction set architectures (ISA) for computer processors, also called central processing units (CPUs), which were initially developed by Intel. The company’s Client Computing segment is responsible for sales of mobile processors used in PCs.
AMD processors
AMD also designs processors utilizing x86 architecture, with the company’s ‘computing and graphics’ segment including both desktop and notebook processors. AMD, like Intel, also designs processors for use in alternative markets other than PCs, for example in data centers and high-performance computing (HPC). AMD’s ‘enterprise, embedded and semi-custom' segment also includes semi-custom system-on-chips (SoCs), a type of processor that can be found in PlayStation and Xbox games consoles.
