A survey among English farm holdings that used a smartphone in October of 2019 saw ten percent of responding farms use smartphones to run mapping software to help with the management of environmental schemes (for example Landapp or ArcGIS). The most commonly stated use for the device in relation to business operations was to use the phone to keep up to date with farming and environmental issues such as news, blogs or farming forums.
