Estimation of linear TV and VOD users in the Netherlands 2017-2019

The number of video on demand users in the Netherlands increased by over four percent between 2017 and 2019, whereas linear TV use declined, according to a widespread survey. The survey shared the average viewing time per user of VOD and linear TV, plus what they believed to be the total viewing time. The source then went ahead to calculate what they believed to be the overall user figures. Video on demand in the Netherlands is often associated with SVOD services like Netflix and Dutch competitor Videoland, but also with AVOD service NPO Start from Dutch public television. No numbers are available for the Netherlands on the exact amount of users of television or online video services.
