According to a survey among young Chinese screenwriters, about 68 percent of young screenwriters received one to two jobs in a year. More than 70 percent of the respondents earned less than 190,000 yuan in the previous year.

The survey was conducted among young screenwriters who:
1) were born between 1979 to 1999
2) owned at least one attributed work
3) currently work as screenwriters.
Note: 1 yuan equals approximately 0.14 U.S. dollars and 0.13 euros (as of May 2020).
