According to a survey on online gaming conducted by Rakuten Insight in April 2022, about 28 percent of Chinese online gamers stated that they decided to make an in-game purchase mainly because they needed it to advance to the next level or to continue playing the game. The same survey found that over a third of Chinese gamers played online games every day.
