As per the results of a survey on the impact of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic on media usage across India, there was a spike in usage of VOIP chat applications in the first phase of a nation-wide lockdown. This stabilized in the following weeks with individual users reporting to have used chat applications for nearly five hours in the end of June.
