According to the survey conducted by Maoyan Entertainment and China Film Association, about 61 percent of respondents had already resumed 70 percent or more of their usual shopping activities after the COVID-19 pandemic. Meanwhile, 47 percent said they had returned to 70 percent or more of their normal dining activities. Non-rigid leisure activities, such as travel, had a lower resumption rate. Only 27 percent of the respondents had resumed 70 percent or more of their previous travel activities.

The survey was conducted among respondents who were:
52% male and 48% female.
36% under 25 years old and 64% aged 25 years and above.
19% from the first-tier cities, 47% lived in second-tier cities and 34% from third- and fourth-tier cities.
The gender, age ratio, and city distribution of the respondents simulated the overall distribution of cinema audiences.
