Due to the coronavirus outbreak in early 2020 some consumers in European countries have increased their alcohol consumption. According to a survey in late March and early April of 2020 about 12 percent of respondents from the United Kingdom stated that they currently drink more alcohol than before the outbreak. The share of respondents that now drink more was largest in the UK. About two percent behind the UK was the share of respondents from France.
