Over the two weeks after the Chinese New Year in 2020, the TV rating of the news channels increased to 4.02, compared to 2.88 during the same period of the previous year. Meanwhile, the viewing performance of kid's channels has also improved during this period. The coronavirus outbreak had a disproportional impact on different channels in Taiwan.

The Chinese New Year (also called Spring festival and Lunar New Year) in 2020 was on January 25, 2020.
The Chinese New Year in 2019 was on February 5, 2019.
