Increase in digital media consumption in coronavirus outbreak in China 2020, by type
According to a survey on the impact of coronavirus COVID-19 on media usage conducted in February 2020, there was a significant increase of digital media usage among Chinese consumers. About 79 percent of respondents said that they used the Chinese instant messenger WeChat more during the epidemic, compared to six months before the outbreak. TV and short video platforms were other media types which benefited from the outbreak.
