Duration change of TV news consumption in coronavirus outbreak in China 2019-2020
Over the first eleven weeks of 2020, Chinese consumers spent a total of 1,112 minutes on average watching TV news, indicating nearly a double amount of time compared to that in the equivalent period of the previous year. To curb the spread of coronavirus COVID-19, the Chinese government imposed a lockdown in the epicenter Wuhan city from late January, 2020, and later expanded the measure across the country. Most of the Chinese people relied on national TV channels to receive the most updated epidemic information.
