According to a survey conducted by Ipsos, around 73 percent of South Korean respondents said they supported requiring stores and restaurants to reveal the endangered status of the fish they sold. Around 7 percent stated they opposed such bans.

The survey question was as follows: "In order to curb overfishing, to what extent would you support or oppose each of the following: Requiring stores and restaurants to inform consumers about the endangered status of the fish species they sell."
