Soybean production in Brazil is concentrated in the so-called Central-South region. In crop year 2022/23, production of this oilseed was forecast to surpass 153 million metric tons, out of which nearly 85 percent would be produced in the Central-West and South regions. In 2021, the state of Mato Grosso alone represented over 27 percent of the Brazilian soybean export value.
