Due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak in the beginning of 2020 in South Korea, retailers suffer from reduced traffic and sales. Nevertheless, certain kinds of foods, especially those considered "emergency food", show a sales growth. Online retailer SSG reported an increase of online sales of canned food by 268 percent compared to the previous week on February 24th, 2020.
