According to a survey conducted as of 2019, 78 percent of the students in Italy having lunch at their place of study tended to have cooked food brought from home. Similarly, 65 percent of the employees having lunch break at their workplace declared that they preferred eating meals prepared at home. By contrast, it emerged that 21 percent of the employees and 13 percent of the students taking part in the survey had take-away food when dining out at lunchtime.
