According to a survey conducted by the Nippon Research Center in Japan in 2021, 89 percent of the respondents recognized Peko-chan and Poko-chan, the two mascots of the confectionery company Fujiya Co. Ltd. Peko-chan first appeared as a design on candy packaging in 1950 and was later joined by her boyfriend Poko-chan.
