TikTok's Chinese version Douyin has become highly popular in China. During the Spring Festival holiday in 2020, Chinese mobile app users spent an average of 122.3 minutes on the short video sharing platform, a double length of time compared to the equivalent period in 2019. Gaming and video apps were among the most popular app categories during the holiday period.
