During a survey conducted in June and July of 2019, half of the opinion leaders and prominent journalists surveyed in Colombia said that corruption was the most important problem in the South American country. The second main issue, cited by one quarter of the experts interviewed, was about insecurity, criminality and drug trafficking. Moreover, Colombia's press freedom index has worsened recently.
