According to a survey conducted by Rakuten Insight in South Korea in February 2024, more than 74 percent of female respondents answered that they had tried eating plant-based foods as alternatives to animal-based products before. The same was true for around 68.7 percent of men in the survey.

Among survey respondents, 2,591 were female and 3,435 were male.
