The movie industry in China has restructured its revenue source distribution. In 2017, the domestic box office revenue contributed 73.5 percent of the industry total, down from 77.5 percent in 2015. This proportion was projected to further decline to 63.4 percent by 2020. Meanwhile, the total revenue of the movie industry in China would surpass 110 billion yuan.

Domestic box office revenue in 2015 excludes the service fee, while in 2016 and after service fee is included.
Movie advertising includes commercial ads played before the movies and ads displayed in movie theaters through carriers like special-shaped billboards and light boxes including LED/LCD screen and inkjet ads.
Movie copyright revenue refers to the revenue from copyright distribution to TV stations and online platforms.
Goods sales revenue refers to the sales revenue from regular products and derived products.
