The profits after tax earned by India's Nifty-500 listed companies in 2018 was about 4.8 trillion Indian rupees. This was a decrease compared to the previous year's profits. India's economic slowdown and a de-acceleration in growth for some of the sectors like the automobile industry and the banking sector may have contributed to this drop in profits.
