Brazil: employed population share by status 2016-2023
In the second quarter of 2023, almost 69 percent of the employed population of Brazil had "paid jobs", or jobs where they had an employment contract with the right to a basic salary. This share has been growing steadily in recent years, while the share of self-employed workers has been declining.
