Daily contact with internet friends among children in Denmark 2018, by age and gender
In 2018, it was more common for boys to have contact with internet friends than it was for girls. While 14 percent of the female respondents at 11 years of age had contact with an online friend daily, this was the case for 25 percent of the boys at the same age. Furthermore, the older age groups had more online contact than the younger groups. For the 15-year-olds, 28 percent of the girls and 37 percent of the boys were talking to an internet friend on a daily basis.
