Opinion of American Jews on if being Jewish is a matter of religion or culture 2019
When asked if they considered being Jewish a matter of religion or a matter of ethnicity or culture, 59 percent of American Jews in 2019 said that they believe being Jewish is a matter of ethnicity or culture. This is compared to 24 percent of respondents who said that being Jewish is mostly a matter of religion.
