In the fiscal year of 2018, 94.1 percent of immigration arrests by federal authorities in the United States took place in U.S.-Mexico border districts, compared to 5.9 percent of immigration arrests in non-border districts. However, 74.9 percent of drug-related arrests took place in non-border districts in the same year.
