A 2019 survey polled over 1,000 U.S. respondents on how soon they begin to purchase food items after a recall in the United States. Responses varied by food item, but the majority of U.S. shoppers would be willing to purchase recalled food items as soon as they were back on shelves. For instance, 34 percent of respondents stated that they would begin to buy bakery products as soon as they are back on shelves.
