As of 2019, the offer of a lower price led 45 percent of incumbent brand-only shoppers to tried a product from a direct to consumer company. Direct brand consumers were generally more prone to trying a product from a direct to consumer company than incumbent brand-only shoppers. As opposed to incumbent brands, direct brands allow for direct digital transactions between themselves and consumers by eliminating the need for a retailer.
