Long-term affordability and environmental friendliness are the main reasons for Thai consumers who consider buying an electric car. According to the survey conducted by Rakuten Insight on January 2024, about 84 percent of the Thai respondents stated that they preferred an electric car over a conventional one because it is affordable to power in the long run.

The survey was conducted between January 19 to 31, 2024 among a total of 15,528 Thai respondents aged 16 years and older. Other surveyed countries include China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan and Vietnam.
