According to the survey conducted by Rakuten Insight in January 2024, 57 percent of the Thai respondents stated that they considered buying an electric car, while 43 percent claimed not to do so. Thai consumers' attitude towards buying an electric car is split, although a slightly higher proportion of respondents think of acquiring an electric vehicle.

The survey was conducted between January 19 to 31, 2024 among a total of 15,528 Thai respondents aged 16 years and older. Other surveyed countries include China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan and Vietnam.
