This statistic shows the share of female episodic TV directors for broadcast, cable and streaming services in the United States in season 2012-13 and 2017-18. The data reveals that in the 2017-2018 season, 25.4 percent of episodic TV directors on broadcast, cable and streaming services were female, up from 14.6 percent between 2012 and 2013. The majority of directors were therefore male, however change in the TV industry is more notable than within Hollywood, where the share of female film directors did not surpass eight percent in any year between 2007 and 2018.
