According to calculations of presidential candidate spending on political advertising on Facebook and Google between January and May 2020, the current U.S. president Donald Trump spent 64.4 million U.S. dollars on political advertising on both platforms, out of which Facebook got a larger chunk of the expenditures - 40.87 million U.S. dollars. At the same time, Michael Bloomberg's ads on Facebook and Google cost cost over 60 million dollars.
