Ecopetrol's crude oil production amounted to nearly 493,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day in 2022. This was an increase of some 1.4 percent in comparison to the previous year. Heavy crude oil remained the main type at about 330,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day, compared to medium and light oil at 133,000 and 30,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day, respectively. The sales revenue of Ecopetrol – Colombia's national oil corporation – totaled 160 trillion Colombian pesos that year.
