Even though the San Francisco Bay area has long reigned supreme as America's premier region for tech jobs, other parts of the country are starting to get in on the act. Soaring house prices and high salaries in Silicon Valley are forcing startups to cast their eyes elsehwere, resulting in healthy job growth in other cities around the United States.
According to data from the New York Times, San Francisco posted a 71.6 percent increase in technology jobs between 2010 and 2015. Though other cities could not match that phenomenal rate of job creation, some places still posted impressive growth figures of their own. Raleigh in North Carolina and Austin Texas were the two hottest prospects for tech emploment outside of Silicon Valley over the past five years, posting 38.5 and 37.2 percent increases respectively.
