How much did each Iowa delegate cost Clinton & Sanders?
The Iowa caucuses are generally seen as a bellwether in the race for the White House. As the two Democratic hopefuls, Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders have been running very different campaigns, both in terms of their politics but also financially. With a difference of almost 40 million dollars in funds raised, Hillary is certainly throwing a lot more financial clout at her bid to win votes. Despite her financial advantage, the result in Iowa was a virtual tie with Clinton winning just 0.2 percent more votes than her rival. When looking at how much each campaign has spent so far, that works out as a total outlay of 3.7 million dollars per delegate for Clinton and a relatively frugal 2.2 million for Sanders.
