Home office data obtained under a Freedom of Information request by the Press Association has revealed that Aston Villa fans were reported for the highest number of hate crimes out of any club in England and Wales in the 2019/2020 season. Villa fans were reported 13 times, of which the alleged crimes were race (7), sexual orientation (5) and religion (1).
The findings were reported by Birmingham Live who stated that Wolves, Leeds United and Tottenham Hotspur fans had the highest number of reported hate crimes after Villa with 10 each.
